Noisy - The foil liner that provides the great high R-value which makes this such a great all season sleeping pad is a little on the noisy side.
Vetted Review: Camping with an air mattress, that’s for wimps right - wrong. I refer you to my review of my Sea to Summit Aeros Pillow(s). A sleeping pad is essential to a proper night’s rest out on the trail. While it is very comfortable, very lightweight and packs very nicely into my backpack, the foil liner that provides the high R-value (a measure of how well the pad resists the conductive flow of heat - keeps you warm from cold winter ground) is very noisy when you toss and turn in your sleep as I do.
The R-value is very important and as one whose favorite camping trip every year is in 4’ of snow in the Catskill Mountains especially when using my ENLIGHTENED EQUIPMENT Revelation Quilt, I need that R-value and the 2.5” of padding to sleep well. The only drawback for me with this particular model is the necessary foil crinkle sound can be a bit bothersome personally for me. So for now I am using the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite Sleeping Pad since it’s such a high quality product and it’s high R-value is critical for my winter camping trips, but I am in search of a quiter replacement - stay tuned!
